Updated: Oct 26, 2019

Saturday afternoon sees league leaders Leeds United take on bottom of the league Stoke City away at the bet365 Stadium.

Leeds go into the game on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Brentford at Elland Road on Wednesday night. The three points saw the Whites return to the top of the Championship table with a total of 10 points from a possible 12.

Wednesday night's victory also means that Leeds United are still unbeaten in all competitions so far this season, and it also saw Marcelo Bielsa's side pick up a third clean sheet in a row.

Elsewhere, Stoke City are searching for their first win of the Championship season after a 3-1 loss away at Preston North End in midweek means that the Potters have still only registered just one point so far this campaign. Manager Nathan Jones sees his side sit rock bottom of the table and two points from safety. They will no doubt want to turn their poor form around quickly.

Team news

Bielsa revealed in his press-conference this week that Leeds could be without centre-back Liam Cooper and full-back Stuart Dallas who have slight knocks, adding to the injury list that already has forward Tyler Roberts and defenders Luke Ayling and Barry Douglas on it.

The Leeds head coach stated that Berardi would replace Cooper if he wasn't 100% fit, while Shackleton would replace Dallas if he isn't able to feature either. Bielsa did mention however that l left-back Barry Douglas has a chance of playing against Stoke on Tuesday night as Leeds host the Potters in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Previous meetings

Leeds will not want a repeat of what happened when they visited Stoke City in January last season, as they lost 2-1 with 10-men, producing a performance Bielsa later described as one of "the worst" of the season.

However, that was only Leeds' third loss in their past 14 meetings with Stoke - and second loss in their last 7 visits to Stoke.
