A Yorkshire derby is up next for Leeds United as they face Garry Monk's Sheffield Wednesday away at Hillsborough.
Marcelo Bielsa's side will be aiming to build on a 2-game unbeaten run. A 1-0 win over Birmingham City at Elland Road in their centenary game last Saturday was followed up with a hard fought 1-1 draw with Preston North End away at Deepdale on Tuesday night.
The Whites sit 2nd in the Championship table and only two points behind league leaders West Brom but just one pint above their upcoming opponents Sheffield Wednesday in third.
Three months in and the Owls are already on their second manager of the season, with former Leeds United boss Garry Monk becoming Wednesday manager at the beginning of September.
Monk looks to have had an instant impact at Hillsborough, with Sheffield Wednesday registering four wins, two draws and just one loss since he took over. The Owls also go into Saturday's game unbeaten, after a 1-0 win over Stoke City at home last Tuesday night made it two wins and a draw from their last three games.
Team news
Bielsa revealed in this weeks press conference that Leeds United can welcome back 28-year-old defender and captain Liam Cooper from a groin problem, while 20-year-old Jamie Shackleton also returns after recovering from a hamstring injury.
However, the Whites are still without midfielders Pablo Hernandez (hamstring) and Adam Forshaw (groin).
Marcelo Bielsa also told us that striker Patrick Bamford will start against Sheffield Wednesday despite Leeds fans calling for 20-year-old on loan Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah to be given a start. Bamford has not scored in any of Leeds' last eight Championship games, with the 26-year-old's last goal coming in their 3-0 win away at Stoke City in August.
Elsewhere, Sheffield Wednesday will be without 28-year-old captain and former Leeds defender Tom Lees, however, the Owls can welcome back goalkeeper Keiran Westwood from an ankle problem while midfielder Massimo Luongo is fit to play after limping off during their 1-0 win over Stoke.
