Leeds United welcome Bristol City to Elland Road this Saturday afternoon, as the Whites enter the last 14 games of the season.
Marcelo Bielsa's side picked up a vital point last time out, drawing 1-1 with fellow promotion contenders Brentford away at Griffin Park on Tuesday night. An error from 33-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Kiko Casilla handed the home side the lead but the Whites quickly responded thanks to skipper Liam Cooper, who tapped in from a corner.
The Whites remain in the top two, however they now sit six points behind Championship league leaders West Brom, and they are now level on 56 points with Fulham in third.
Meanwhile, Bristol City go into Saturday's game on the back of a 3-2 win over Derby County at home on Wednesday night. The Robins have now won five and lost just won of their last six league games.
Lee Johnson sees his City side sit seventh in the league table on 53 points, level with Preston who occupy the final play-off place.
New Robins striker Nahki Wells could add to his tally that he opened for Bristol City in midweek against Derby. Wells has scored past Leeds already this season, in the Whites’ 1-0 defeat to QPR in January.
Team news
Leeds United will be without midfielder Adam Forshaw, with the club announcing in midweek that the 28-year-old would fly to the Steadman Clinic in Colorado, US, to undergo hip surgery. The operation is set to rule Forshaw out for the remainder of the season.
Marcelo Bielsa announced in his press conference this week that despite recent criticism directed at Kiko Casilla, the Whites manager is prepared to back his number 1: "I don't support Kiko, I support the team. I don't ignore the mistakes that Kiko made, they are evident, and also it's true that the consequence of the mistakes are linked with the results of the team. But he gives a lot of importance in that Kiko in the matches where he made mistakes he kept confidence himself and continued giving the right answer in every situation.
"When players make the mistake, the players are still confident in him and he is confident in himself."
Bielsa also stated that he will stick with Patrick Bamford despite the striker also recieving criticism, with fans calling for 22-year-old French forward Jean-Kévin Augustin to replace hiim. Since signing for the Whites, Augustin has appeared only twice as a substitute since signing for the Whites in their games against Nottingham Forest and Brentford.
Previous meetings
Leeds United have enjoyed facing Bristol City in recent years, losing just one of their last 15 meetings with the Robins (12W 2D 1L). The last meeting between these two sides at Elland Road was in November 2018, where United ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez.
When the two sides clashed on the opening day of the season back in August, the Whites won 3-1 away at Ashton Gate hanks to goals from Pablo Hernandez, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison. Marcelo Bielsa's side will be hoping to secure the double over the Robins.
