Leeds v Middlesbrough Preview: Leeds look to continue unbeaten run and add to Boro misery

Marcelo Bielsa's side return to Elland Road action this Saturday afternoon as Leeds United take on Middlesbrough, managed by former Whites defender Jonathan Woodgate.

The Whites picked up their fourth consecutive win on Tuesday night after securing a 1-0 victory over Reading away at the Madejski Stadium.

Leeds are now unbeaten in seven games (W5 D2) and Marcelo Bielsa sees his side sit two points clear in second place in the Championship table, on 37 points.

Meanwhile, former Leeds United defender Jonathan Woodgate makes his return to Elland Road as Middlesbrough manager. He currently sees his side sit 20th in the league table on 17 points, just one point above the relegation zone.

Boro did pick up a victory in their last match as they defeated bottom side Barnsley 1-0 at home, however that was their first win in 11.

Team news

Portuguese winger Helder Costa could return to Leeds United's starting line-up on Saturday after Wales international Tyler Roberts picked up a hamstring problem during Leeds' 1-0 win at Reading in midweek. The 25-year-old replaced Roberts 34 minutes into Tuesday night's game at the Madejski Stadium.

Midfielder Adam Forshaw remains out for the Whites, however they could welcome back on-loan striker Eddie Nketiah to the first team after the 20-year-old featured for the Leeds United U23s on Friday after recovering from an abdominal injury.

Elsewhere, Middlesbrough will be without midfielder Anfernee Dijksteel (knee), while Britt Assombalonga and Paddy McNair are doubts. George Saville returns from his ban, but Marvin Johnson is still out with suspension.
