Leeds United take on Derby County at Elland Road this Saturday lunchtime for game number eight of the Championship campaign.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side go into this weekend's eagerly anticipated game on the back of a 2-0 win at Barnsley last Sunday. That was the first ever time that Leeds have won back to back games away at Oakwell.
After the results last weekend the Whites saw themselves return to the top of the Championship table, however they are level on 16 points with second placed Swansea City.
Elsewhere Derby County are not enjoying life under manager Phillip Cocu. The Rams have registered just one win all season, and that came in the form of a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield Town on the opening weekend. Since then they have drawn four and lost two of their other six matches, and they see themselves sat just three places and two points above the relegation zone in 19th.
Team news
Bielsa revealed in his press conference this week that Leeds are still without midfielder Adam Forshaw who is still out after missing last week's game at Barnsley through a minor hip problem. Other than that, the Whites have no fresh injury concerns.
Derby County head into Saturday's game without star forward Tom Lawrence through suspension. The 25-year-old has managed to pick up five yellow cards already in just seven league games which sees him miss the trip to Elland Road.
Previous meetings
Leeds United have good recent record against Derby having gone unbeaten in four of their last five meeting (three wins and one draw). However they will not want to be reminded of the score these two sides last met on May 15th 2019, as the Rams defeated Leeds in the Championship play-off semi-final
