Leeds United travel to Portman Road to take on Ipswich Town for their final game of the regular season, before stating their play-off campaign.
Last time out for Leeds saw a dramatic showdown at Elland Road last Sunday, as they drew 1-1 with Aston Villa, with both goals coming in controversial fashion.
The draw however did see Norwich and Sheffield United secure automatic promotion to the Premier League, as the Whites' currently occupy third spot in the Championship table and are five points behind the Blades in second heading into Sunday's season finale.
But, despite the set-back, and even though the scenes at Elland Road last week weren’t pretty, the narrative has seemed to galvanise the squad, club and fans for the play-offs.
Leeds United team news
Striker Patrick Bamford is set to miss Sunday's game and the first leg of the play-off semi-final, after he was given a two match suspension following an EFL investigation, where he was deemed to have 'successfully deceived a match official.'
However, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa revealed in his pre-Ipswich press conference that striker Kemar Roofe is back and ready to play up front for the suspended Bamford, after missing United's clash with Aston Villa last week due to a hip injury. Bielsa said: "He (Roofe) is completely fit, but we can't ignore the fact that he's spent some time without playing 90 minutes."
Bielsa revealed that forward Tyler Roberts and winger Stuart Dallas are also both doubts for the trip to Ipswich, but the Argentine did reveal that "With these two doubts, we might have a positive outcome with Dallas, with Tyler it's a little more complex."
Ipswich look forward to end of miserable season
It's been seventeen years that Ipswich Town have stayed in the Championship. But, their time in the second tier of English football will be coming to an end after Sunday, as their relegation to League One has already been confirmed.
Town will be glad to see the back of what has been a miserable campaign, a campaign that has seen them win just four games all year.
Paul Lambert side’s will aim to finish on a high note, rebuild and gain momentum for not only the players but the fans as they embark on a journey into the league below. But, it won't be an easy task as they go into Sunday's game against Leeds having lost four and drawn one of their previous five games.
Previous meetings
Portman Road hasn't been a happy hunting ground for Leeds United over recent years, having not won in Surrey since Saturday 24th August 2013.
In their previous five visits, the Whites have drawn once and lost four, with one of those loses coming in on a day to forget as Leeds were handed a 1-0 defeat by Town after midfielder Eunan O'Kane was sent off in the first half for a headbutt.
When these sides met in October earlier this season though, Leeds ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Kemar Roofe and defender Liam Cooper.
