Leeds United 2019/20 Fixtures: Key Dates

Updated: Oct 26, 2019

The 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship fixtures were announced on Thursday and here are some of the key games for the diaries of Leeds United fans.

Leeds United will kick off the new season away at Ashton Gate where Bristol City will entertain the Whites in the Sunday afternoon kick off on Sky Sports. Leeds beat Bristol City 1-0 away last season thanks to an early goal from Patrick Bamford.

The first home game of the centenary season will come on the following Saturday when Leeds will face Nottingham Forest.

Just three days later, the Whites will travel to the Class of 92’s Salford City for the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Also, in August, Leeds will go to Wigan and Stoke and will play host to Brentford and Swansea before the international break.

With Huddersfield relegated from the Premier League and Barnsley gaining promotion from League 1, there will be more mouth-watering Yorkshire derbies for Leeds fans to endure.

The first will come on September 14th away to Barnsley and fans will have to wait until the end of October (26th) until the next one where Leeds will travel to Sheffield Wednesday.

There will be back to back Yorkshire derbies at the start of December as Leeds will play Huddersfield away and Hull City at home.

The reverse fixtures for the derbies are Sheffield Wednesday (H) on 11th January, Hull City (A) 20th February, Huddersfield (H) 7th March and Barnsley (H) 18th April.

Other key landmarks in the season include Preston at home on Boxing Day and on New Years Day the Whites go to West Brom; seeking for a better performance than last seasons trip.

The run in, which was the make or break period for Leeds last season, includes some very interesting fixtures. Stoke City, who will look to improve on last seasons disappointing campaign, will travel to Elland Road on good Friday and the bank holiday Monday game sees Leeds play Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

In the penultimate game of the season, Leeds will travel to Pride Park to face Derby County and Lee Bowyer could come back to Elland Road on the final game of the season when Charlton play the Whites.
