Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is set to miss next weekend's Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season during the Whites' 4-0 win over Middlesbrough at Elland Road on Saturday.
Phillips was handed his fourth caution of the season during Leeds' 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road earlier this month, with the cut-off for a one-match suspension for five yellow cards coming after last Saturday's game.
But the 23-year-old was shown a yellow card by referee Keith Stroud following a late challenge on Boro defender Dael Fry just twenty-four minutes into the game.
And after picking up what was his fifth yellow card of the season, Phillips will now miss out on Leeds United's trip to Huddersfield Town next Saturday, forcing Argentine boss Marcelo Bielsa and his side to go on without one of their most influential midfielders.
It will also leave Marcelo Bielsa with a dilemma seeing as 28-year-old midfielder Adam Forshaw is also currently out of action due to an injury. On-loan defender Ben White took the role of Phillips towards the end of Leeds' win over Middlesbrough, but who will take his place next week is anyone's guess.
